Movie weekend

I wanted to rent 300 this weekend, but Blockbuster didn't have it in. But they had a pile of used DVDs, 4/$20, and for once there were actually 4 I wanted!

Jet Li's Fearless

A serious yawnfest. The fight scenes were cool, but there was far too much slow moving plot and epically bad actors.

Tenacious D's The Pick of Destiny

Surprisingly good! It's no Oscar contender, but there some really funny parts. The kid they got to play young JB was great, had all the Jack Blackisms now perfectly.

Eulogy

I don't remember this movie coming out, but it's a few years old. It's your standard dysfunctional family movie, but damn they're screwed up. This is a funny one, and Ray Ramano with a mustache is funny on its own.

Thank You for Smoking

Great movie. Any movie with a main character that can resell cigarettes to a cancer surviving kid is a great movie.

Then I ventured out into the world and saw...

The Bourne Ultimatum

I never saw the second and remember nothing from the first, so a lot of the movie was lost to me. The camera work during action scenes made it look like the camera man had Parkinson's. It's a 111 minute movie with 50 minutes of plot and a lot of jumping through windows. But if you can concentrate through the crazy camera, it is a good movie.
