I work for {directorFName} in {deptName} at {compName}

My company's going through "performance transformation" which is a fancy, summed up way to say "move people around, fire a few, and centralize all the decentralization (and vice versa) we did seven months ago". I'm not worried for the future of my position here but it's so annoying, having a new management cast every few months. Just as I start learning the names of all the people so far above me that they don't even matter, they all change. I was just asked (by a smoking hot babe) "Who is your director? What department are you in now?" and I honestly blanked and couldn't answer either question. From now on, I'll write down this sort of worthless information. No sense in devoting brain tissue to remembering what my group is calling themselves this week.

I know what you are going through! My company last year fired their
traditional "CTO" and replaced him with a new "CTO".
We went from having a Chief Tech Officer to a Chief TRANSFORMATION
officer.

And in the end, it was back to the way it was, with a few less of the old
group, and a lot more of a new group.... which somehow all new each other.

Nepotism... couldn't be.

But the first transformation was a change that aligns IT with the different
business units, and after the year of change, they just moved us back to
being IT again.

I love this IT World.

My company had Information Systems, IS, for years. Then the old CEO retired and the new one had an army of consultants in. They kept calling it IT instead of IS, the CEO didn't know better and never corrected them. So rather than any correcting the CEO, we spent untold sums changing all the internals websites, stationery, and job titles to reflect the accidental change.

A Chief Transformation Officer is funny. That's not a job with much security. You'd have to continually change the goals and structure of the company just to stay employed!

Well... the new CTO was only around for like 1 year. She brought a bunch
of people on board to shake up the IT world... and removed a lot
of the old guard. A lot of the bosses were let go to make room
for the new ones.

It was crazy!
