Hunter Guide to Magtheridon's Lair
Now that you've killed High King Maulgar and Gruul a bunch of times, it's time to move onto bigger fish. I actually think the Mag fight is easier than Gruul. Gruul's Shatter ability is really annoying and does lots of damage. Mag has earthquake, that bounces you around, which is annoying, but much less destructive.

There are four identical trash pulls in here. You should misdirect-pull, but likely MD won't be up for the next pull. Either tell the raid to wait or the tanks can get their own crap. The shadow volley from the mobs is annoying, so if you can toss on a piece of Shadow Resist gear without murdering your DPS, do so.
Around Magtheridon are 5 cubes and 5 channelers. It's safe to go in and /dance with Mag, the fight doesn't start until someone attacks a channeler. The raid leadership will assign a tank and "clicker" to each cube. You may have to misdirect one of the channelers onto a non-protection plate wearer or a rogue that will evasion tank it. The channelers will summon infernals, which you can and should freeze trap.
After two minutes or when the last channeler is dead, Magtheridon will unbanish and the fight really starts. There's a bunch of watch out for...
First, if you're a "clicker", stay as close to your cube as you can.
Fire : A glob of fire on the ground, don't pass through it! It does big damage and then a DOT that'll hurt bad.
Earthquake : Bounces you around. You can't auto or steady shot, but viper sting and arcane shot still work. If you get bounced through some fire, /cuss.
Cave in : Looks like boiling rocks on the ground. Don't go through it and don't stand in it.
Mag is mostly a tank and spank. Watch your aggro early on. If you have a cube, be sure to click it when Mag's casting Blastwave.
Loot
Magtheridon loot really stinks. He drops a lot of purples and 3 badges. But for hunters, the t4 chest is about all you'd want. And the 20 slot bag, of course.
