To say this post contains spoilers is a moot point. "Spoilers" means it will ruin the surprise of the movie when you see it. But you should never see this movie. The movie HAD to have been written by fan fiction writers.

Jet Li + Michelle Yeoh = Endless Supply of Win?

Incorrect.

The Mummy 3: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor was hands down the worst movie I've paid to see in over a decade (I saw Patrick Swayze in 'Black Dog' at the dollar show). The plot was forced and scattered. The acting was terrible (point: Brendan's voice sounds like a muppet when he says he put down the same mummy, twice). The characters had zero chemistry. The dialog was flat and poorly delivered. The special effects were cheesy and very unimpressive.

I'm at Mother Murloc's this weekend and we're going all out on the movie watching! Some spoilers to follow.

Premonition

Very confusing, doesn't make much sense when you try to piece it back together at the end. It was cool to think of what happened because she tried to stop it. But this was a very unsatisfying movie.

The Number 23

Yawn. The camera work was pretty good, but some scenes were drawn out far too long. Especially the sex scenes, but that could be discomfort because mom's right there. I was told the twist at the end was amazing, but it's not. I called it long before it happened.

The Ninth Gate

Terrible. Another with some very drawn out scenes and very slow moving story. The end is wide open, which means it doesn't make sense. I thought it would be better than the other two when it starts out with some good dark humor, but then it's just stupid.

I watched The Fountain this weekend. It came out last year, starring, Hugh Jackman, but I don't remember it being advertised. If you like depressing movies with an inspiring ending, this one's for you. Hugh's wife has a brain tumor and he's working to cure it. It's really confusing at first how it jumps around between the actual storyline, the story his wife is writing, and some other ... reality. I never caught exactly what the third reality was. Hugh was dressed like a monk with a shaved head, tattooing himself, floating through a nebula in a glass ball with a dead tree in it.

I wanted to rent 300 this weekend, but Blockbuster didn't have it in. But they had a pile of used DVDs, 4/$20, and for once there were actually 4 I wanted!

This movie rocked. Best I've seen in a long time. Action start to end. Great laughs splattered throughout.

I almost didn't recognize Kevin Smith playing the War10ck, without him wearing glasses.
